Physio, chiro or podiatry: who should I see first?
July 20, 2026
When something hurts, it is not always obvious which practitioner to book. Here is a simple guide to how physiotherapy, chiropractic and podiatry differ — and why, at a multidisciplinary clinic, you do not have to get it perfectly right on your own.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists assess how you move and use hands-on treatment plus tailored exercise to help with injuries, pain, post-surgical recovery and everyday movement. A good starting point for most muscle, joint and sports-related concerns.
Chiropractic
Chiropractors focus on assessment and manual care of the spine and joints, often for back and neck pain, stiffness and headaches. Some people find it a helpful complement to other care.
Podiatry
Podiatrists care for feet, ankles and lower limbs — from nail and skin care to biomechanics, orthotics and sports injuries. The right choice for heel or arch pain, foot injuries or footwear concerns.
Not sure? That is normal
Because our practitioners share one roof and talk to each other, you do not have to diagnose yourself. Tell our reception team what is going on and we will point you to the right discipline — or book an assessment to help work it out, and refer you on internally if someone else is a better fit.
